11 years ago I cannot reproduce th error using the development branch. Which version of OSATE2 are you using?
When you open the aaxl2 file in the text editor, does it look complete? If it's incomplete, check the error log for an exception while the file is created with save as xmi.
Can you share the model that causes the problem? The best test case would be single AADL file showing the problem. You can add a comment with the code (see http://github.github.com/github-flavored-markdown/ section Fenced Code Blocks).

[Is there any particular format that you follow for reporting the bug? So, pardon if there is any specific format. I do not know that.]
My problem is that I tried to save to XMI file. But when I open the aaxl2 file, I keep getting following error. Initially the code was a bit complicated. But later stripped down to only one system type with few input and output ports.
