As a forgetful or paranoid user or someone who remembers best chronologically, I want to see when my codes were added. This way I will also be able to verify that nobody else added codes to confuse me.

For features like these you want to have something like the "other approach" in #13 to unlink the meta-data from its code. Actually it would be nice to split up the different parts of the meta-data too.
