What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. moved from 1.12 to 1.14
2. checked chmod 777 fro cache and temp. Changed define ('CACHE_SIZE', 90000);  

3. no images shown, or a few. Take too long to load.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
show images

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
the latest: 1.14

the script is wild and still taking apache resources to its maximum. I am 
starting to believe that the culprit is the clearstatcache function.

Perhaps a solution like would solve the "Maximum execution time" errors?:

Hi - please try the latest version of the script. There have been a stack of 
improvement recently and hopefully one or more of them have improved the cpu 
usage.
