SGM: Special General Meeting #3

Chatted with @mtravis Suggested having SGM in the new year, as @antonys is away for a couple of weeks and there is no point in doing anything after early Dec.

Hi OSGeo:UK Committee,

I hope everyone is well and everyone had a nice break over Christmas .... even if it does seem a long time ago!

We need to organise a SGM to discuss:

We need to advertise this to all members with at least 3 weeks notice.

Ant, are you ok to coordinate this?

I suggest we find a date that works for us (the committee) and then we circulate this to the mailing list.

We can pitch this as a 'preparing for FOSS4G UK 2022' meeting to get the call for volunteers out for that. I am happy to write something suitable if you like.

You are quite correct Steven - you are not. I have now removed you from the committee repo on GitHub.

Please accept my later-than-last-minute apologies. A work thing went on longer than expected, and I didn't realize we had a clash with the AGI Scotland keynote.

Jez Nicholson confirms that OSMUK are incorporated as a CIC, and I think we should investigate that further.

Tom C: I hadn't, but have just asked separately of Jez Nicholson and Richard Fairhurst - will report back if I get anything from them.

Thanks Tom - much appreciated.

We had a bit of a discussion re incorporation and concluded that Corporation of some type would be important to consider if OSGeo:UK grew in it's activities and did more work, but if carry on as we are (i.e. just running FOSS4GUK and small bits of sponsorship) then incorporation isn't really needed.

Happy to have more of a chat if you would like one - just let me know.
