Enhance the detection algorithm

• Enhance the current capabilities of JavaANPR The JavaANPR project is great, but fails to recognize many plates.
  • Can we enhance it to detect more images?

• Port carcv-cpp from C++ to carcv-core in Java Using something like: http://code.google.com/p/javacv/ or http://docs.opencv.org/2.4.4-beta/doc/tutorials/introduction/desktop_java/java_dev_intro.html

  • We would need to create the OpenCV C++ implementation first
  • Then interface it to Java via JNI or similar
  • It would probably be faster

We have decided to go with the option of enhancing JavaANPR. This issue now serves as a blocker for the next major release. See this issue.
