In this newsletter... supporting #blm, new campaigns feature, tips for content creation, and more.
Hi there,
As we thought about what to share in our newsletter this month, the Black Lives Matter movement is at the top of our minds.
This past month, we’ve seen in practice how social media allows your voice to be heard far and wide, and how it can make an incredible difference in uniting communities across the world. That feels more important than ever these days.
As we work on building new things to better help you spread your message, we want to do something more tangible. If you are a Black person or other person of color who identifies as an anti-racism activist, or if your Black- or POC-owned or -led organization is engaging in anti-racism work, then we would love to gift you a Pro account. You can request your gifted account here.

New: Hit your social goals with Campaigns 🎯
Now more than ever, it's important to have a crystal-clear picture of what you're sharing on social media — across all of your social channels — and the impact it’s having on your brand.
With Campaigns, you have an entirely new way to organize and analyze your social media content in Buffer. You'll be able to group related posts together, create a better content mix, and go deeper into how your campaigns are pushing your brand towards its goals.
How do you keep your feeds full of valuable content, without being repetitive or compromising your brand? Tim Urch, Social Media Manager from Huel explains their strategy for keeping their audience of more than 300K social followers satisfied:
Be brave and trust your gut: “A lot of our most successful content has been instinctive, stuff that just came to me or someone in the team. It might feel a bit left of field, a bit wacky, like a meme or a bold statement that might ruffle some feathers. Something I’ve learned is to trust those gut feelings. Don’t overthink it.”
Collaborate across the team: “Content ideas can come from anywhere. Everyone uses social media and therefore, unlike in other more technical disciplines, everyone knows what could work. So as a Social Media Manager an important skill is to let go of the reins and utilize the team.”
Facilitate an idea share: “A really simple thing I did recently was set up a Slack channel with a group of about fifteen teammates from all areas of the business who I knew had a great eye for social. We share ideas and I temperature-check my own ideas with them too. This has meant our content is more reactive, varied, and successful.”
Your social media questions answered 🎙️
In the revamped Science of Social Media podcast, we’re excited to answer your social media questions. Check out the latest episode where we chat about how to handle the increased messages from your audience as people spend more time at home and on social media.
As always, thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.
Warmly,
Mike and the Buffer team
