In the test version 4.1.0.6 and 4.1.0.10 all buttons (profile, search, zoom, location, settings, navigation) are now opaque and bigger.
During navigation (with guidance) or during map display (without guidance but with position tracking on the map) would it be possible to hide the buttons automatically or with a tap on the screen to leave more space for the map? Another tap on the screen would make all the buttons appear.
Leave on the screen the location, search, quick action button at the bottom right of the screen (better accessibility for the thumb) if you are right-handed and hide all the other buttons even the zoom because there is now the double tap and drag to zoom.
On small screens (e.g. iPhone 6s) as well as on big ones, it would be very nice to have only the map
