GPX recording pauses and resumes by itself #10320

Both on my Samsung phone and tablet, I sometimes experience pauses in the GPX recording while paddling, where GPS reception of the open sky is excellent. I already contacted OSMAnd, and made sure PowerSave is off. Still. Here's a view of my Samsung S5e on deck and the resulting GPX of yesterday, at one-minute intervals, where the part around the island is missing (the recording stopped at 18:57 and resumed at 19:19, possibly when I turned on the screen manually)

Hint: at times, water droplets falling on the protective case turn on the tablet screen and trigger the UI, possibly opening a dialog. The recording never got turned off. but is it possible OSMAnd+ may stop recording while a dialog is open?

I am pretty sure it is the Android+Samsung power saving behavior.

Unfortunately it looks like things are both rather Android-version plus device specific, but have you tried to precisely follow what I recommend in http://osmand.net/help-online in article "Trip recording stops while screen is off"? (Partic,ularly the last section I have there on newer Samsung devices.)

Excuse the delay. I haven't returned paddling since then. I wasn't aware of your recommendations, other that OSMAnd's support recommendation of turning off power save. Here is my tablet's current state:

Android version is 10/November 1, 2020 security fix Power consumption is Optimized Adaptative power save is Off Adaptative battery is On Unused apps put to sleep is On

I added OSMAnd+ to the list of apps never put to sleep. Maybe that'll do the trick.
