When I look at the terrain map of Google and other map providers it is extremely detailed compared to the data available in Osmand (as a paying user). Please provide at least at mountainous regions (I speak of Canary Islands, but other regions have the same issue) high detail contour lines and relief. This detailed height or elevation information would be extremely useful (with topographic map style) for hiking in the mountains together with the detailed paths and ways of OpenStreetMap.
There was a similar issue #8425 which was resolved for a part of Europe.

Describe the solution you'd like
Use the same data source for elevation (LIDAR) or a better one that Google and others use for creating your contour lines and relief map. This is not a development issue, but just a buy data once and put it into your format.
My request applies to other regions, too, but for the Canary Islands you can acquire the LIDAR data here: http://tiendavirtual.grafcan.es/ in format LAS.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Alternatives are Google maps or https://visor.grafcan.es with LIDAR view for really viewing elevation and inclination of certain ways. I hate that alternative, because Google doesn't provide all the detailed way information. So I have to always switch and estimate what inclination the ways could really have, as the Osmand elevation data is just blurry garbage.
Have you considered any alternative solutions or workarounds?
