OsmAnd Tracker issue #10840

v.858.858 OS: Graphene OS (latest) Phone: Pixel 3a Phone location: Enabled Location: UK

App Permissions: ALL (No permissions denied) App Location: Allowed only while in use

The app has stopped working. After choosing "Start" to share location, the app Status remains as "Starting" for a while and then eventually returns: "Not possible to send to Telegram chats @user, Last updated location: Not sent yet".

Telegram-FOSS version: 7.3.1

The other map app (OsmAnd) works and correctly shows the location.

Do you have any idea why OsmAnd Tracker has stopped working?

Probably reinstall could help

I'm the user that reported this issue... Thank you for your suggestion - I have just uninstalled app, restarted phone, re-installed app. But this didn't fix the problem :(

Are you able to see location in the chats? Do you have a read-only function i.e. if somebody sents you a location or you send it over telegram program

I will admit, I am new to Telegram, I only installed it for this app (I use Signal for daily messaging)... any way, please could you let me know how do I check Telegram for location chats and the read-only function?

...I just checked Telegram permissions and changed Location to 'Allow all the time', I also allowed access to 'Files and Folders'. But still get the error.

OsmAnd Tracker was working fine in January and I haven't changed any of these settings, so it should work based on my previous settings right??

Weirdly I have just checked my wifes phone (same phone with the exact same OS and setup) and OsmAnd Tracker works and can share location with me! I've double checked both App settings permissions and they are exactly the same, except OsmAnd Tracker Location on my wifes phone is set to Allowed All The Time, where mine is set to Allow Only While Using The App. How do I set to Allowed All The Time if the setting is missing? Is this the reason why the app isn't working properly?

I've looked into the Read Only chats, but don't think that affects what I am doing as I have not set that and can't find where I change those settings any way.

Could this be a similar problem as discussed in #10637?

My story:

OS: LinageOS 17.1 FP2, GAPPS nano installed but no GAPPS app has permission to the location.
