After latest update from Google Play to version OsmAnd+ 4.0.4 the satellite lock seems to be broken. Even widget at the right upper corner shows 10+ satellites in use out of 20+ and GPS Test reporting full 3D lock with 2m accuracy, there is still small blue circle around the pointer. Also, the pointer will stay circle never switching to arrow except for a couple of seconds at the very beginning after app start. Previous version worked just fine. All other navigation apps like Yandex and 2GIS experiencing no problems at the same moment. Android version: 8.1.0 Screenshot

The 4.0.5 rolled in - no changes, still no fine satellite lock.

This sounds like https://github.com/osmandapp/OsmAnd/discussions/11408.

I guess for debugging it would be interesting to doublecheck / know if OsmAnd has been granted Location permission, and if Google Location Accuracy is enabled on the device.

OsmAnd has Location permissions (double checked for that). And I don't have anything like Google Location Accuracy, at least search gives nothing. But at Location I have "all sources" selected.

This is for Nexus, but I think it's similar in most devices: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/3467281?hl=en#location_accuracy&zippy=

If you still cannot find it, it may just be Android 8, then it should not be the root cause here. But it could also be that you have disabled or are not running a current enough version of "Google Play Services"? It is my understanding that new versions of apps hosted on the Play Store are now sort of mandated to use Google Play Services for the location fix. The only way to circumvent this is to use the OsmAnd f-droid build or our nightly builds.

I found "Location Accuracy", it was just called different: and yes, it is enabled. "Google Play Services" are enabled as well and they are up to date (last update was performed on August 8). No other navigation apps experiencing problems with locking.

That depletes my foremost ideas for now, looks like this needs deeper research then. What bogs me is that it seems a not very common issue...
