In #10501 I've been working on a few systems of beeps instead of voice announcements (my use case is road cycling, where it's very hard to hear voice over general noise).
You could use the same method, but start from a clone of the recorded voice profile in your preferred language, and still have voice where you wanted it. Or you could probably adapt one of the beep profiles pretty easily to do roughly what you want (you'd get beeps rather than voice for the proximity alerts). I'm open to the idea of making another profile myself ('beep-minimal' I suppose I'd call it), if there's significant interest.
Installing them at the moment is a bit fiddly, but as of 4.1 hopefully they'll be packaged and installable through the menus.

Switch to turn of voice announcements but still having proximity alerts

Goal: Using proximity alarms without navigation voice announcements.
If you have a solution in mind, please describe it. New switch "No navigation announcements" in the profile settings > navigation > voice announcements When switched on there will be no voice announcements for navigation but still for proximity alerts (waypoints, favorites, etc. according to configuration) ### Describe alternatives you've considered A list entry "No voice" in the language setting (same place: profile settings > navigation > voice announcements) If "no voice" is selected, there will be a notification for proximity alerts. Have you considered any alternative solutions or workarounds? No, I dont see any alernatives and I didn't find any workarounds (searched on website, github and telegram). There seems no way to have proximity alerts without navigation and navigation always leads to voice announcements.
