Navigation, displaying the route when approaching a crossroad, not accurate, not enough time to read #14332

Description

I tested for several days during a bike trekking the routing feature "display the route only when a new direction notification occurs" with a "bike" profile.

Every time, the route is displayed after the crossroad. If we take the wrong road, there is no warning. When the route is displayed, we have not enough time to read it.

How to reproduce?

Your Environment

OsmAnd Version: 4.0 Android/iOS version: 8.0 Device model: Samsung S7

"When the route is displayed, we have not enough time to read it."

I found the setting of the displaying time.

It remains the 2 problems:

I add another problem:

I did another bike trek. Instead of "Every time, the route is displayed after the crossroad", I should say "sometime the route is displayed before a crossroad, sometime after, sometime not".

@vshcherb I understand that "If we take the wrong road, there is warning" is a nice feature to have but "sometime the route is displayed before a crossroad, sometime after, sometime not" is a bug.

street names should be displayed up to 300 m if I'm not mistaken they are tightly coupled with voice navigation, once you hear "Prepare.." you should see target street name

@vshcherb

I don't use "voice" and "street name" features. I only use the widget "next turn" in the upper left corner.

"sometime the route is displayed before a crossroad, sometime after, sometime not" is a bug.

Yes, that why I created this bug report. It is not a wish.

I copy here the “description”:

“Every time, the route is displayed after the crossroad. If we take the wrong road, there is no warning. When the route is displayed, we have not enough time to read it.”

I copy here the complement after another experiment:

“Sometime the route is displayed before a crossroad, sometime after, sometime not.”
