I seccond this motion. Could probably be easily done by adding an extra position icon of choice. In the setup I can now choose between 2 arrows and a car. Just add the possibillity for an arrow 'centered at the point'. If need be it can be a shorter arrow that just reaches to the middle/centre of the 'icon block'
Just a side tought. Why is there only a car icon to choose besides the arrows. A bicicle, camper van, boat or walking person would be fun too. (Absolutely no high priority)
How is this implemented in other products? I always expect my position to be at the center of the icon. It is not the arrow pointing at me, I am the arrow.
Of course, if many people see this differently then it can become configurable.
Of course you 'are' the arrow and it/you point at the direction you are going. But the centre of the arrow (or car or other icon) is a little ambigues. So having your position at the exact point of the arrow it is just easier to see at a glans where your exact position is. Especialy usefull in areas where the map is verry 'crowded' with roads or paths.
I think the same as @tradavyvy. I would like to see some more icons for each profile. I have thought of some example like in the picture:
I second this request as well to add an arrow position icon with the current position at the arrow tip. I had a modified position icon on my Garmin zumo and I really liked it. No need to zoom in to see what is hidden below the icon.
Is there a guideline how to create/add/adapt navigation icons on your own? This would also very helpful.
🚀 feature request
Description
The current position is in the middle of the position arrow, not at the tip of the arrow. So it is unprecise to see if you have already got to a position where the map shows a byway or something Sometimes you just passed the object you where aiming for.
Describe the solution you'd like
it would be wonderful to be able to select as an option if position is in the middle or at the tip of the position-arrow (like other navigation apps do, for example kurviger app) please please please :)
Describe alternatives you've considered
I did not find a workaround a) zooming in and out all the time is difficult on the motorbike while riding b) using another app (e.g. kurviger) is not an option for gpx-tracks, because OSMAND is so much better for that
