Describe the idea (required)

When I have saved places set to not show on the map. I cannot search for them using the search bar. I have to manually go to "My Places" and select the place I want. My places should show up in search.

Tell us about the expected behaviour (required)

Some of my saved places are set to not show on the map. These places should be shown in search results.

Tell us about alternatives you've considered (required)

The only alternative to this is to manually go to "My Places" and select the place I want.

I don't really udnerstand what do you mean by My Places? Is it GPX? Favorites and where it should be displayed

starvingarden commented 4 months ago

By "My Places" I mean favorites. Typically, favorites will show up in search results. If you go to your favorites and switch the toggle "Don't show on map" to "on", favorites will not show up on the map which is expected. But favorites will not show up in search results which is unexpected.

OsmAnd Nightly 4.8.0#2380m, released: 2024-05-24

Reproduced. Favorites show up in My Places search, but if you go to Menu > Search and search for favorite by name in the search bar, nothing shows up.

Workaround: You can search for disabled favorites in My Places -> Favorites

pebogufi commented 3 months ago

For me it is appropriate, NOT to see favorites in search results if they are disabled. So it is NOT a bug.
