Describe the idea

Is it possible to add BOAT's to Osmand maps, these are Byways open to all Traffic, to enable Mororcyclists to use the permitted lanes for off road riding. green laning. All councils are now supposed to allow access to a definitive map of their area showing all these "greenlanes", it would be brilliant if Osmand could incorporate these definitive maps, I would expect you would find an awful lot of people wanting to use Osmand for these lanes. It is quite amazing how many off roaders there are out there.

Will increase usage of Osmand

Alternatives you've considered

Joining GLASS or TRF, both of which you need to pay for, but they are not comprehensive across all areas, and in the case of TRF very cliquey

I would hope it would open a huge new market for Osmand

I’m trying to convince the TRF to collaborate on a plugin to do exactly what you are suggesting. As it happens, I already have it all working BUT need to a couple of things to make it more likely to be acceptable to the TRF:

1. Allow OBF files to be time-limited (because the important thing with offline data is making sure people are updating it on a regular occasion)
2. Allow only the right people to use the plugin (so it will need a way of logging in with TRF user account)

If the TRF collaborate on a plug in, will you then have to join the TRF, tried that very unsuccessfully

Having digested your point 2: who are the "right" people, I have tried joining our local TRF and found they are not the sort of club I wish to belong to, hence I cancelled my membership

Well, if it is a plugin for the benefit of TRF members, then they are the right people. Or, anyone that they want to sell access to, I guess.
