After days of starvation, suddenly the markings are back.
From the past I only know that there is sometimes a gap of some seconds or maybe a minute or so after app. start, when markings aren't there.

Please note that the visibility of map markers depends on your profile settings. It's possible that you either disabled their display or switched to a different profile. And when you switched back to the previous profile, the markers likely became visible again.

No, this isn't the case. Now map markers are gone, again. Visibility is ticked. Note that list of map markers is empty. As far as I remember, this wouldn't be the case then.
I assume that Markings come back in the very moment I added a new marking. But haven't observed in depth.
If I remember correctly, this happens to me also in previous versions prior and including 4.8.x. The markers come back if I add another marker no map, or after I reboot the app (kill then start again) after a while -> need to re-kill and restart if not.
Looks like the markers DB is not always read correctly at startup. Adding a new marker re-triggers reading the DB (i saw there is a sqlite map_markers_db file somewhere in system folder for this, mine is 1.4 MB big)
Description
After updating from ~4.8.5 to ~4.8.6 all of my "Kartenmarkierungen" are gone. "Kartenmarkierungen" (german for map markings) are the flag style markings that are listed by the topmost entry of the main menu (above "my places" and "search") Beware: All english identifyers are translated back from german localisation by myself.
Steps to reproduce
As this happened during an update, I haven't reproduced it. In a forum another person reportedly has no problems regarding this issue. So my problem may be unrelated to the update.
Actual result
No map marking in map visible, list of map markings is empty, list of groups show some groups (named apparently automatically from dates), all if them marked "0/0". List of old markings is emtpy, too. Note: I never used the "groups"-feature deliberately.
Expected result
Markings are preserved after update.
