Breaking changes from Google #21287

Description

Since yesterday, the text-to-speech and Google update breaks a lot.

  1. No TTS sound in the app on the phone
  2. Hangs on infotainment of the car when attempts to play sound.
  3. No voice recognition on the infotainment both the built-in (Toyota Phone over Blutetooth) or Android Auto (with USB connected -> Google Assistant) Today Google updated the Android Auto and Google Maps. Don't know yet if it works or still does not. This is heads up. Either you can push Google to fix broken stuff or get info on how to fix the TTS voice prompts in the app.

Steps to reproduce

Use AA or TTS voice prompts

Actual result

Does not work or hangs car's infotainment.

Expected result

Should work and do not cause hangs.

Things on the phone have improved. The TTS voice guidance is back after 2024-11-09 update of TTS (Speech Recognition & Synthesis)
