Version of OsmAnd: nightly 2018.08.06 Android

I use the offline maps offered within the OsmAnd app.

The following POI categories can be shown in Cycle map view:

  1. Accommodation
  2. Cafe and restaurant
  3. Charging station
  4. Convenience store and supermarket
  5. Emergency
  6. Filling station
  7. Finance
  8. Food
  9. Healthcare
  10. Leisure
  11. Nautical
  12. Parking
  13. Personal transport
  14. Public transport
  15. Sightseeing
  16. Sport
  17. Tourism

The one that I tried to search for are the points that are tagged "amenity=drinking_water". Drinking water is important fuel for cyclists.

Note: http://opencyclemap.org/ shows the points ware drinking water can be tapped. Hope to see this in Osmand too.

You can search for "drinking water" and a corresponding POI category will appear. However I agree it would be nice to have more selectable POI categories, maybe in submenus.

Thanks for the tip, "Drinking water" is now shown as POI overlay on the map.

As OSM-editor, I searched for the exact tag label: drinking_water -> no results.

Note: drinking water is not "food", I wouldn't open a food submenu when I am looking for water to drink.

Hi, just FYI OSMAND is not finding any POI, but they appear in Opencyclemap. Best regards

This can be closed as solved, I think?

I mean, I could also interpret the OP as a request for preconfigured categories for each profile. It would be sort of useful, maybe. Better open a new request?

From the perspective of someone in need for food, drinking water is better than nothing. And the principle of least surprise would imply finding drinking water sources when searching for food - except ehen there is 'hydration' as well. But the latter would be to specific for a top level category. Is it such a bad thing to have displayed sources of freshwater as well when you are searching for nutrition?
