Adding street numbers to buildings #6124

Open Bubu opened 5 years ago

I recently wanted to add some street numbers to residential buildings in Vancouver but couldn't figure out how to get OSMAnd to open the edit screen for a building=yes object.

Since 3.1 there is a way to edit non-point objects which is working well for things like restaurants which can be selected by their icon on the map. But normal buildings can't be properly selected it seems. Long pressing on them sets the marker inside it but just shows the "add POI" option.

Am I missing something?

Try: create a user defined searchpattern with categorie manmade / building activate that search pattern you will see the big orange pois. use this pois to edit your building. Peter

Thanks for your help! But could you tell me how I can create this custom search pattern?

pebogufi commented 5 years ago

Open search from menu select CATEGORIES scroll to the end click on CUSTOM SEARCH scroll to Man made click on that line search for building check it ckeck Apply click on Show in the lower blue area THAT's IT

if you want to save that for furure use: in the second line "SHOW CUSTOM FILTER..." click the options symbol on the very right on top line on the right click the three dots click save filter

does it work ? Peter

I can create a custom search with this, but it seems to be only highlighting me buildings which already have a clickable icon inside anyway. Plain buildings do not become selectable for me by this.

It is not possible to search all buildings, cause buildings are not POIs. Sorry it is a known issue and we don't plan to fix it soon cause there are too many buildings in data set, you might consider creating your own map

Sorry I'm not sure how creating my own map will help with the original issue?
