8 months ago Thanks for the suggestions, Bob. I am tempted to try a shared Slack channel that could be shared/cohosted by any of the organizations. I will check with @dsilhavy when he is back.
This will reduce the overhead as e.g. members from DASH-IF and 5G-MAG and any other organization running Slack could see this channel in their own space while posts are shared.
It could be an easy start.
Hi,
HbbTV has a Developer Portal but this is not very dynamic, and so we've been wondering about how to make it more interactive. There's various project GitHub issue trackers, and other resources of information e.g. obviously the specs themselves, also #hbbtv topic issues on Stack Overflow etc., etc., but users may not know where to go to find help on general queries relating to the standards, implementations and tools covered by this community.
We note DASH-IF run some slack channels, and DVB tried discord for DVB-I.
We wonder if there's the user population to support all these separate channels and certainly think an HbbTV specific one may not generate the level of participation to be self sustaining.
So we wonder if the OSMART community might see some value in collaborating around a single point of reference for some kind of interactive channel based forum.
If DASH-IF has the most mature and active existing space, might it be willing to expand its existing slack channels to accommodate other groups? Is that logical - would 5G-MAG, DVB prefer something more "agnostic" as a root, e.g. OSMART led?
