In terms of bulk adding these, one tag we like to include here is "cuisine" and I'm not sure if that could be easily done? You could probably match up the Wikipedia entry with it's Wikidata counterpart, and set the location to us as a starting point.

2 years ago It's probably worth checking all the articles first to see if they are actually for restaurants. I just went through some and it seems like they are semi hit or miss. For instance one was about a guy, another was about an arcade, there were also a few that only had a couple of locations. Which wouldn't be worth adding to the index either. That doesn't even chains that have closed but not had their Wikipedia articles to reflect it.
Personally if it were me I'd do the footwork to figure out which ones are actually restaurants, have enough locations to warrant an entry, and then open individual issues for them between now and Hacktober Fest. I've done that a few times myself and it works pretty well. I don't think it's worth just bulk adding them though. Especially not without some serious review involved first.

Does anyone object to splitting this into a bunch of issues for vetted restaurants with at least 10 (or maybe a higher minimum?) locations?

As such, all of these are in Wikipedia but probably not in NSI (the only way I think there would be a mismatch is if NSI links to an old redirect or similar).
Maybe there's a way to add these in bulk?
