It would be of enormous help if you or someone could take a crack at this, even partially, today or tomorrow.
This seems to be a place people are dumping coral textures:

Unfortunately they seem to be many different sizes, not square, not 512x512, with watermarks or shadows... hmmm...
Hey @peterwilkinson, I just saw this:
https://github.com/osmosacademy/vr-campaign/pull/47
Did you make those textures? They're pretty great. If you didn't, where did you get them and what is their license? Can we get more?
Glad you liked them @Zulban ! Packaged up @guiji80 's extracted images into a working flow, they're just random images cut out of other images; from photographs. After being cut out, the color was removed. A Blender workflow was set up and were UV'd from there, then made the normals were made in crazybump. I think there's enough modification for them to be ok from their photo sources. In any case this flow can be repeated. I think packaging and making a sample file will allow for portability and testing inside and outside of the git project, since it seems to be how the asset store works.
Cool. It may be a bit late for these pictures, but we should probably start collecting licenses, attributions, and links for all the stuff we're stealing.
Changed to medium priority since the 3D corals may be a better focus for performance sake.
Create twenty different images of coral reefs. They should be 512 by 512 pixels, bright but black and white, transparent, and very different. Make a coral reefs folder in the textures folder, and put them there. Git push if you know how, or ask for help to share the files. (I previously said colourful, but B&W is best for procedural tinting)

See attached picture to see how they will be used. On the left is just one plane, on the right is a 3D "cheat". This will run well on a phone.
