UI Step 3 after having chosen the option “Let me define functional groups” - Issue no. 4 #57

Closed agruss2 closed 8 years ago

During our last Skype meeting, we agreed that Step 3 - after having chosen the option “Let me define functional groups” - should display less text, and that details should be provided to the user through "information buttons".

Here is what I think Step 3 - after having chosen the option “Let me define functional groups” - should look like:

step3_2

Each information button will be associated to some text, that will pop up when the user hovers over the information button.

Here is the text associated with information button 1:

Focal functional groups are groups of species/species which are explicitly considered in OSMOSE (i.e., their whole life cycle is modeled). The names of the species making up focal functional groups must be valid Latin names.

Here is the text associated with information button 2:

Background functional groups are groups of species/species which are implicitly considered in OSMOSE (fields of biomass for these groups are used to force the OSMOSE model). The names of the species making up background functional groups must be either Latin names or order names; please provide order names for those background functional groups that belong to low trophic levels (e.g., phytoplankton, bivalves).

As discussed on August, 15th 2016, here is how Step 3 after having chosen the option “Let me define functional groups” should look like: step3_2

@FIN-JBarile @FIN-casey Let's also please update Step 3 after having chosen the option “Let me define functional groups”. It should now look like: step3_2

agruss2 commented 8 years ago

@FIN-JBarile @FIN-casey Please also update the text associated with information button 1. The text associated with information button 1 should now read:

Focal functional groups are groups of species/species which are explicitly considered in OSMOSE (i.e., their whole life cycle is modeled). The names of the species making up focal functional groups must be valid Latin names. *Note: To identify relevant Latin names for a functional group, you can access FishBase/SeaLifeBase by clicking on the FishBase icon or the SeaLifeBase icon, which are both located at the top-right hand corner of the table provided below. FishBase provides data for fish, while SeaLifeBase provides data for all the other types of marine organisms.

@FIN-casey As mentioned in another issue, the columns "Order" should be replaced by columns "Class". So, I am going to close this issue and open a new one.
