Usage of OSM trademark(s) #1

Hi, just a general question - can my local/micro/meetup groups use the OpenStreetMap trademarks (i.e the logo and/or other trademark(s)) for promotion - including our meetup site(s) as well as hand-outs, stickers, and other 'memorabilia'? On 'another level', can we ask for donations 'in exchange' for items using OSM logo or variations? I believe the local chapter agreement with the OpenStreetMap Foundation allows use of trademarks, but I am not sure if OSM-US is an 'official chapter' or not, or if I'm not remembering/understanding the terms of the agreement fully/correctly and/or if the OSM-US has 'permission' to grant us those types of permission.

We are not, which makes the issue of using the OSM trademarks a bit murky. We need to discuss this on the board. /cc @osmus/board
