This has come up several times in the WP.org support forums. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/change-the-order-of-archive-page-content/ https://wordpress.org/support/topic/several-problems-16/ https://wordpress.org/support/topic/controlling-order-of-books/

@NicktheGeek has some ideas for improvement.

NicktheGeek commented 7 years ago

It likely needs:

Possibly other copy?

@jerodm40 can you check this out and let me know? Please note this is a WP plugin AND an RM module.

Book Order works.

Custom Book Sort

Enable Custom Book Sort

Enabling this option will display a sortable, drag-and-drop container below that includes all books in this term.

copy looks fine to me. Thoughts @omiq @dreamwhisper ?

Just wondering about in this term.

all books filed in this term

all books in this series

NicktheGeek commented 7 years ago

the sort should appear in the book author, series, and tag editor, so if we want to make it taxonomy specific then I'll have to make some logic for that. It's totally doable, but we will need the copy for each of the taxonomies.

dreamwhisper commented 7 years ago

I think it can be left as in this term.

NicktheGeek commented 7 years ago

Ok, so here is the copy, I'll work on these changes

heading: Book Order

label: Custom Book Sort

enable option: Enable Custom Book Sort

decription: Enabling this option will display a sortable, drag-and-drop container below that includes all books in this term.
