Spore colonies were never intended as a late game economy structures. These are to create beachheads and make Bionic faster to recapture their planets.
The only situation I see fit to destroy all buildings is deploying scorched earth tactics. And I would say if we want to keep this tactic valid, it would be better to have it as an option for every system/planet to be triggered during capturing. So players do not need to micromanage it to maximize outcome.
Noticed at least for the Bionics mid to late game there is so much micromanaging on planets. Building bio improvement devices then demolishing them to make way for spore colonies. Not sure if any other race would benefit from a demolish / clobber feature. But it would really help to manage bionics. Maybe a job to demolish all structures (have to factor in time requirements). Could be a button to clobber structures w/o a confirmation (dangerous). or keyboard shortcuts when demolishing structures (slightly dangerous as you would bypass the popup warning with a keystroke). This is a minor feature issue.
