A record button would contain a circle, while a stop button contains a square.

Well, the icon set i got the play button from didn’t have a record button.

Have you got a nice, free pair of record/play buttons?

(P.S. Note to self, "That close button means 'Close that issue', not 'Close the commet box'. Oops.)

Oxygen (KDE) may be the source of the black-and-white "play" icon. It also contains a record icon with a red circle.
