Problems about RF-based range sensor models #178

Hello sir,

We notice that you added RF-based range sensor models, but their frequency is only 1Hz (or lower). On Webinar, you said the uwb module will be added, while the general uwb module has a frequency of 100Hz-200Hz. So will a separate uwb module be developed in the future, or we can adjust the frequency of RF-based range sensor?

What’s more, we are currently testing the communication. To avoid subsequent duplication of work, we also want to know that whether the communication module (rx/tx) will be changed or not in the future?

Hi, looking through the customization requests, various range sensing devices were submitted and they operate at different frequencies, bandwidth, update rates, and ranges. In the webinar, we proposed to implement a generic RF based range sensor. UWB is one type of such sensor. LoRa is another for example. Instead of customizing parameters to specific devices and models, we chose parameters that are not particularly tied to UWBs. After discussing with the organizers, it was decided to keep the RF range's sensor update rate as it is now.

To answer the other question, no we do not plan to change the communication module in the future.
