IHMC Topic Documentation #40

Open osrf-migration opened 7 years ago

osrf-migration commented 7 years ago

Original report (archived issue) by Rud Merriam (Bitbucket: rmerriam).

Many of the IMMC topics are opaque as to their use or meaning. A few are listed below. From the topic names and the associated messages it is impossible to know what they mean. Note, this is not asking about the messages but why the topic is made available and its purpose.

Additionally, some are clear as to purpose but there is not explanation of what can be expected in the content of the message. Most of these are irrelevant to the qualifying task but may gain in importance for the actual competition.

/ihmc_ros/valkyrie/output/capturability/center_of_mass : geometry_msgs/Point32

Yes a documentation would be helpful.

I'm bumping this issue since it was asked in the recent telecon but the FAQ didn't really address the issue. IMO the important question is which of the IHMC topics are actually working.
