This new integrated task will resemble a combination of the wayfinding task and obstacle course portion of the gymkhana. Like the second half of the gymkhana task, the team must minimize distance to an acoustic beacon while navigating around obstacles. However, the beacon only remains in a fixed position for a certain amount of time, after which it teleports to another location and the team must find it again.
There are some decisions to make about how this should work. For example, we could:
use mean-squared error distance to calculate the score, and move the beacon after a fixed amount of time has passed, or
move the beacon once the mean squared error falls below a certain threshold, and score the task based on the time required to "find" all the beacon positions, or
Make the beacon move continuously, as though its emitted from an underwater vehicle.
