We're seeing problems with Wordpress 5.8. Everything works as expected until you try to edit a page that has the event_calendar shortcode embedded. Then we get the following:
I checked the commit you referenced, and it looks like our files are up to date. ob_start(); is present on line 130. We just downloaded the extension a few days ago.
I don't know enough about GitHub etiquette to know if this warrants a "new issue" or if I should have just commented on the old one. So my apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place!
@bactheatre Have checked the issue mentioned on the specific version the fix for that issue is under the master branch. It will add that fix under the next release.

I've tried to troubleshoot it as best as I can, but I'm not a strong developer. Please let me know if there is any more information I can provide.
