Our aspiration is to help shape norms and practices in the open-source development of AI so that they meet high ethical standards and allow for AI systems to be used for good while upholding principles of transparency, accountability, and responsibility which are key to building ethical AI systems and minimizing harmful impacts of AI development and use on society.

Given our focus on public policy and governance of AI systems would be very interested in contributing to those discussions and being a part of the WGs on AI/ML Security and Best Practices.

We have researchers in the field of AI Ethics who work on staff at MAIEI who can contribute analysis and insights on the societal impacts of open-source in AI.
