The OpenSSF Vulnerability Disclosures Working Group seeks to help improve the overall security of the open source software ecosystem by helping mature and advocate well-managed vulnerability reporting and communication.
I'm Matt Wilson, a Product Manager at GitLab on the Secure Team. My current work is on vulnerability management and responsible disclosure. I see a good deal of overlap between the OSSF's objectives and the vision for both my product area and GitLab as an OSS steward. I would like to join as an active participant in this working group to help contribute to the goals of driving open security forward.
Professionally, I am a relative newcomer to the security space in terms of formal roles and am looking to be more actively involved outside my normal job responsibilities. But I have long held a strong personal interest in security and spent much of my career "security adjacent", particularly as a backend web developer during the previous decade.
I appreciate your consideration and look forward to participating in this group.
