Device doesn't work when i load into Ableton 12

Currently when i open the max patch on Ableton 12 with Max 8 the device doesn't "load".

See the errors on the console:

Please remember the following directory: Documents/Max 8/Max for Live devices.

This is always the situation when such issues occur. You need to define the path.

i have put the device in there and it still did not work.

it just worked once i moved the file outside of the "code" folder.

also, after i put the .js file in the same folder as the AMXD file i could move the entire device folder anywhere in my computer and it still works.

TLDR:

• Having this device on Documents/Max 8/Max for Live devices is not necessary
• I needed to put the JS in the same folder as the AMXD file in order for it to work
