These models look great! I prefer the piecewise, as it lets you account for the block effects. I think week should interact with stressor_app, so that we can have different rates of loss for different applications (what we observed in the GAM) I'd be interested to know if the crust_abund ~ LSA + shoot_density + (1|block) is sufficient to explain crust response, or if we need to include a direct effet of stressor_app on crusts to get a model that fits parsimoniously. ie asking the question is the crust response mediated by seagrass change, or is there some other effect of stressor_app on crusts

Thank you, Chris! I will look into the interaction between week and stressor app, and effect of stressor app on the crustaceans with the piecewise SEMs. Hopefully I can finalise the models early in the new year and wrap up this chapter shortly after!
