Use the ~Akismet~ Form Honeypot plugin & reCAPTCHA to block spam signups.

After entering the API key and clicking OK, the action never completes, though the key does persist when closing the form and opening it again. I turned the plugin on for all journals. I'm waiting a couple of days to see if the emails slow down.

Akismet was a bust - it couldn't handle the volume of bot signups we've been getting. I have installed the "Form Honeypot Plugin" and set that up for each site. Again, will watch the emails over a couple of days to see how effective it is.

We also enabled reCAPTCHA (V2 checkbox style) on the forms. Note - Information stored in LIT password manager.

From 2/2 to 2/5, I received zero 'undeliverable' messages. I'll keep an eye out going forward but consider the changes to be successful.
