BUG: https://github.com/osy/Polaris22Fixup/issues/23

Daasin commented 3 months ago

I couldn't get it to work in Sonoma, so don't know what's up there

Baio1977 commented 3 months ago

https://github.com/Baio1977/NUC8i7HVK-Hackintosh test this EFI on Sonoma 14.5+

Daasin commented 3 months ago

I'll get on testing it now, glad that we can still get the AMD GPU to work in macOS. Main reason I bought the thing.

Daasin commented 3 months ago

Made some edits that I thought would work... Opencore always seems to break USB boot in my BIOS for some reason. Worked the first time

Baio1977 commented 3 months ago

Every time you switch from SSD boot to USB boot you have to do a resetnvram.

Needham73 commented 3 months ago

Tried it but didn't work for me I get a few Gfx firmware load process errors during boot and then the screen goes black. It only boots to login screen in safe mode.

Set the Bios well, possibly disable the IGPU and see what happens, photo of the block in any case

Disabling IGPU makes the Gfx errors go away but I still get black screen

Head over here if you have Graphics issue in Sequoia. It's fixed now. https://github.com/osy/Polaris22Fixup/issues/23#issuecomment-2267217813

By the way, what's your brand for your wifi and bt? Apple, or broadcom, or intel? @Baio1977

Maybe I'll update the repo once acidanthera's kexts are updated in 2024.08

Baio1977 commented 3 months ago

WI FI + BT Intel for my NUC. It seems correct to me to continue the evolution of this repository.

Some graphic bugs have been resolved, as you can see from the attached image some remain.

Maybe it's the cache of the thumbnail? You can ask chatgpt how to update the cache.

One example of mine: After applying the new kext, I still have the glitches with login screen wallpaper, due to the wallpaper cache. So I changed the wallpapers settings and reboot/relogin, let the bad cache go, and change back the wallpaper, the issue is solved.

Now the installer support for Sequoia Beta can be found here: https://github.com/osy/HaC-Mini/discussions/1091

You can also see the link below if you want to see code. https://github.com/osy/HaC-Mini/pull/1097

Now the installer support for Sequoia Beta can be found here: #1091

You can also see the link below if you want to see code. #1097

I installed 14.6.1 using the hacmini you provided. Everything is fine, except that the screen(not system) cannot wake up (but rustdesk can be connected and used normally. Once After the restart command is run, the screen turns on. At this time, I can no longer operate. I can only Wait until the restart is complete).

My monitor resolution is 4k hdmi, does this have anything to do with it? or Is there anything I've missed? I made sure I re-executed hacmini on the system after it was installed.

I still use hacmini. Do not use hdmi, use TypeC to wake up the monitor normally

Thanks for your feedback. Glad to hear it's working with TypeC. I use Displayport, and it's working fine too.

I think you are talking about the miniDP interface? NUC8i7HVK does not have a dp interface, only miniDP. Can I use a miniDP to DP cable instead of a typeC cable?

Yes, I'm using miniDP to DP cable. If your monitor has DP, you can try it.

Another question, can I connect to Magic Trackpad 2 or 3 via Bluetooth after using your hacmini. pkg? If possible, I would go buy one

Anybody else have issues with screen flickering? Tried both usb-c & hdmi... Especially prominent when using two displays and when scrolling

Daasin commented 1 month ago

I only mention because @goodbest @osy and @Baio1977 seem to have familiarity with polarisfixup and might be able to say if the same issue applies here with similar fix to -igfxdbeo

Other than that & Airportitlwm, everything seems to be in working order for me
