A way to hear a short machine generated ("TTS") sound snippet in the voice settings (as Laufhelden offers) would benefit users twofold:
To decide, if the generated voice output (gender / voice, language and used TTS engine) suits one well (quality etc.).
As a quick check, if the TTS configuration is working, technically.
Side note: TTS in Poor Maps is not working for me (it went silent on my second Jolla 1, too, where it was working fine for many days) and it is really hard to debug Poor Maps' TTS actions without the ability to trigger some TTS output reliably. So this is actually a third reason for such a "Test TTS" button in Poor / WhoGo Maps' settings.
Presumably this missing mini-feature affects WhoGo Maps, too.
Tested with Poor Maps 0.34.2 under SFOS 2.1.4.14 on a Jolla 1 phone.
