Series: all series page includes restricted works number and wordcount for logged-out user

1. If works can be restricted to logged-in users only, should series have the same option?
2. Series pages and work totals should reflect only the works that the current user can actually see.
3. How should we handle a series made up entirely of restricted works?

WRT 2.: I posted (in the sandbox r962 ) a series, wanted to add a second work to the series but due to some errors (not taking my changes in the story text, will investigate if there's an open issue about this later) I left it as draft; then I posted the second work in the series, but it appears as the third. The series index ( http://testarchive.transformativeworks.org/en/series/155 ) only lists two works (correct), but the previous and next inside each story link to the draft.

Is this what 2 refers to or is this strictly a "visibility of draft" issue?

Original issue: 2 looks like it's already in place.

1 and 3 sound like Design decisions since there's nothing about them in the wiki. I support having the option to restrict a series just like a work, but I suppose this opens a whole can of "what to do when...?" worms. (Locked series with both locked and public works, for example.)

Comment 2: I'll open a different issue for this.

This was discussed at the AD&T meeting on 14/15 March 2009; the wiki page has been updated accordingly.

Rather than having an option to restrict series or make them visible, a series should automatically be restricted if all the works in it are restricted.

If a visible series contains some restricted works, there should be no indication of them to a user who is not logged in. Number of works, the series page etc should all reflect what the user can see.

Something I should have noticed before but didn't:

When logged out and while viewing "View All Series" for a pseud, it displays the total number of Works in a series that has restricted and unrestricted works. I'm thinking that it should only display the total number of unrestricted Works.

(The Series page itself is good; for a logged-out user it only displays the total number of unrestricted Works.)

Hm, yeah, oops. :D It took me a moment to even find where on the Series page we show the number of works... >.< I suspect the word count is a total word count too.

Don't forget to set back to Assigned when finding a not-really-fixed issue. ;)
