On that same note... neither (arrow brackets) [br] nor [br /] work in r687 . That tag's useful for depicting letters and all other various sorts of things and I can't see how it could be harmful.

This is needed for the URL upload page as well.

(etc) ... What I would like from the
tag is that it (a) display in a monospace font, and (b) have its line breaks treated as line breaks (single-space) as opposed to paragraph breaks (double-space).

r1031 : copied the list of allowed HTML tags (from Post Work) to the Post Chapter and Upload from URL pages. Maybe the rest of the above suggestions could be renamed Enhancements and Accepted or not?
From eni...@gmail.com on February 18, 2009 13:28:14
First part of this issue has been fixed, and <br> works. pre doesn't work as the feedback suggests, but center works. (So, er, perhaps we should add it to the safe tags list, yes. :) )
Summary: Request for allowing more HTML tags in stories

r1078 - added center to the informative list of allowed tags so this issue can remain at the Enhancement label.

A list of requested tags needs to be compiled for consideration. Accessibility and validation are strong concerns in this matter.

Just noting that is currently allowed, but not listed in the allowed tags list. (And also has no visual styling, but that's a separate issue.)

rev. 1585
actually the tags listed for beta now works but it is consistent with tags available hat is listed. I assumed that the allowed tag list on the page was accurate.
The issue is overall solved, however there are 2 bugs remaining in addition to the styling issues mentioned above (and the issue 616 listed above). Started separate issues on them.
Example work using most possible tags. http://testarchive.transformativeworks.org/works/6330 Issue 1 ) p, img and u are accepted but not listed in allowed tags ( issue 845 ) Issue 2 ) it is possible to switch the visibility of the allowed tags so that it only shows in rich text format ( issue 843 )

What archive revision are you testing on? (See the revision number next to "An Archive Of Our Own: Extreme Alpha (rev. #)" in the header). r687 What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Begin creating a new work What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I'd like to see a (?) graphic/link where that asterisk is " Story, in plain text with limited HTML* " that lists the allowed 'safe' HTML tags. Please provide any additional information below. Additionally, I'd love (someone) forever if some method of centering things could be allowed. [center](with arrow brackets) doesn't seem to work. So if something like a more specific [P] tag or [div] tag is needed, then maybe instructions on that help page, too, on how to do that.
