Installation not happening

After clicking on the install shortcut, I get a window alert asking if I want to allow the software to modify my computer, and when I click yes the alert disappears (which is normal) but also nothing happens (which is not) and the otdvm software is not installed.

Expected behavior Probably that an installation window would appear (with something like "next" on it, or a least an alert that the installation was successful). And to find the otdvm software somewhere on the computer.

Environment (please complete the following information):

• OS: Windows 10 pro
• Version : 19043

Additional context I did download the zip from github, https://github.com/otya128/winevdm/releases/download/v0.8.0/otvdm-v0.8.1.zip then unzipped it and launched it both from an USB key and later (since the former didn't work) from the c:/ location on the hard disk.

I've downloaded the link and tried to install otdvm with the "install" shortcut in the unzipped folder, but I get "alerte : le fichier spécifié est introuvable" ("alert : file not found").

I don't understand how to do a trace with the provided instructions when the software itself doesn't install, which is the problem I have ?

Oops, I totally misunderstood your problem. I read it as another installshield problem. Try right clicking on the installw.inf file and choose install.
