TT called me on thursday night: they wanted to randomise the kidney pair. They had entered the essential information to randomise a kidney pair but the database said that "Time machine perfusion started" was missing. This timing can only be entered after randomisation (as the kidney will be connected to the machine after randomisation). I told them to just enter a date en time and alter this later when they got the time of perfusion start. This allowed them to randomise.

What went wrong here?

marshalc commented 7 years ago

What else did they enter? Who was the TT? Were they following established protocol?

Given nothing has changed about the system, the question here is more what did the TT do incorrectly...

marshalc commented 7 years ago

Was it Tim Knobbe? And they've managed to close the Donor form, though I can't say if they've completed it or not.

responsible TT: Tim Knobbe and Loes Hartveld

I have no idea on what they had entered before randomisation. This can be asked to the responsible TTs.

Ok, so I can't do a complete replay of everything that Tim will have done, only the actions that resulted in data being saved. He's been able to randomise at 10:26pm, but had been saving the form 10 times between 10:21 and 10:26 though with very little changed that I can see.

Perfusion Start time is required to save organ data once an answer of Yes is given for Perfusion Possible. At a guess this last question was answered, but not the time question. In that sense, nothing has gone wrong here.

Unless you've got some more detailed feedback about what the TT did? Otherwise I think this is a moot point.
