Registration Failure (Timeout) when wifi reconnects #526

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start sipdroid 1.5.2 beta while connected to a wifi network. Sipdroid
registers with pbxes account and everything's great.
2. Walk out of range of wifi network or otherwise break wifi connection
momentarily (ie. turn off wifi, etc)
3. Upon wifi reconnect, Sipdroid 1.5.2 beta tries and fails to register with
account. Must completely exit Sipdroid, then re-start it while on the wifi
network to get it to register properly.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Versions prior to 1.5.2 never had this problem. With my exact same setup, they
connected just fine everytime a wifi network was available.

What version of the product are you using? On what device/operating system?
Sipdroid 1.5.2 beta on Nexus One (with Android 2.1)

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
I'm using pbxes. As mentioned above, pbxes setup has not changed from last
Sipdroid version to this one.

Which type of network are you using?
Wifi

Please provide any additional information below.
If anybody has a previous version of Sipdroid (1.4.7 if possible), I would love
to revert until this issue is resolved. Thanks!

i have this issue as well - it works beautifully once i kill sipdroid but if
the connection is broken for any reason, it will refuse to register.

When the phone is switching connection (3G vs. Wifi) the Registration Failure
(Timeout) error appears... I have the very last version 2.2 from Android market
directly...

I have always had this problem. It also happens when switching from 3g to wifi
or when switching from wifi to 3g.

It seems as though it wouldn't be impossible to have Sipdroid automatically
unregister and restart whenever the network changes. This is what I have to do
manually each time I leave the house or the office.

Consider this a feature request!

Same problem here: when switching from 3G to WiFi, Sipdroid fails to
re-register. The dot is Red and Sipdroid never seems to attempt to re-register.
Opening the Sipdroid app manually causes it to re-register, which of course it
is able to do successfully and immediately, every time.

This problem happens on pbxes.org with TCP. It does not happen using Sipgate
over UDP.

It's still broken now. Why sipdroid can't implement a retry registration count
in the settings.
