[Critical Network Analytics] #1

Open onebigear opened 2 years ago

onebigear commented 2 years ago

Description

[] [In the recent years, network analytics has become a popular research model applied in an interdisciplinary manner. Alternatively, it can also be understood as an episteme, a way through which to make sense of networked phenomenons. The availability of network analytics software tools and access to datasets have supported the field's growth.

At the same time, network analysts themselves question the comprehensiveness of the methodology. I would like to propose a session similar to a study group, to come up with alternative theories that amend to traditional network science.]

Type: [ production of alternative theory]
Length*: [ pilot talk + asynchronous participation ]
Date: [ between November 14-27 | ]
Duration: [ ongoing ] Language: [ English ]

*Note: all talks will be capped at 30 minutes with time for discussion and questions

Objective

[produce a small scale, alternative and critical theoretical framework. ] [gain a heuristic understanding of network analytics. ]

Hi Biyi Wen, thanks for submitting a proposal to Our Networks 2047! We are currently re-working our issue template and website to make sure the format for this year's event is clear, since it's a little experimental :)

We are not hosting a conference, at least not where people actually present talks and workshops, but instead facilitating the creation of a wiki about a conference that could take place in 2047. We will use proposals made here to pre-seed the wiki with a "conference schedule". Between Nov 14 and 27, we will host a series of online writeathons, where we will make space for you to informally introduce your idea and expand on it yourself or with others

Just commenting directly here, because you opened this issue before the updates! We're sorry if the previous website copy or template was unclear - we would love to have your proposal be part of the wiki, and join you in conversation and co-writing!
