gold OA journals with 2021 subscription rates #19

Hi Casey,

Following up on this issue, I got a list of all issn_ls with oa_status = "gold" in Unpaywall and non-null subscription rates for 2021 in JournalsDB. Many were mistakes in Unpaywall, but 19 of them seem to be fully OA in 2021. They are listed here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bcdAs1iNM42xL-nGe39SyXc4UqqgsQ8RK5fiCuz1lW8/edit#gid=470956996

I haven't looked for subscription rates directly, so it may be that the some publishers will let you pay for a journal you don't have to pay for, but I expect most of these rates are wrong.

Thanks, Richard

Hi Richard,

Yes I looked through these and the SAGE ones were incorrect due to the script incorrectly picking up single print issue pricing. I went ahead and removed all of those subscription prices and am fixing the script.

The Elsevier and T&F ones are a bit trickier in that they have subscription prices listed in the publisher spreadsheet... but they are clearly gold open access based on the web site so I went ahead and removed the prices.

Finally, the only one that seems to be hybrid and not need correcting is: 0104-6632 / Brazilian Journal of Chemical Engineering. The web site here https://www.springer.com/journal/43153 lists it as a hybrid journal.

Thanks, Casey. That all sounds correct. 0104-6632 / BJCE shouldn't have been on the list, I saw that it moved from SciELO to Springer in 2020 so having a subscription price and correctly-labeled Gold DOIs wasn't a conflict.
