Starfield Support #497

Open khafir opened 1 year ago

khafir commented 1 year ago

BS and OS are wildly popular and staples of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. Given Starfield is another Beth title, please consider (or add!) support for Starfield.

Thank you! I assumed this has already been on your radar for quite some time, created the 'issue' because I didn't see one addressing SF support. Thank you for all the great work!

Bump, yes please SF support

Loading NIF+mesh+morph files from loose files (and BA2 archives for mesh files) was added in a bunch of commits. Exporting/editing mesh files is missing. Editing bones/rigging/weighting is missing. Loading materials+textures and corresponding shading is missing.

So once these are done Bodyslide will be be ready for SF support???

Yes. But BodySlide isn't really required in Starfield.

Outfit Studio could be used for easier outfit and morph creation, but the game already does morphing and CharGenMenu can save presets, so BodySlide isn't really needed that much anymore.

I'm not currently actively working on these missing points, I just wanted to list what's missing here.

oh so BS would basically be put in legacy mode but mainly need Outfit Studio hmm so where would modders start with commits for OS since I did noticed that some would make Donations for this area

How would adding more sliders work then without bodyslide?

You can add morphs (sliders) to the game menu freely using CharGenMenu. The morphs themselves you would add using Starfield Geometry Bridge in Blender or in Outfit Studio (but not BodySlide).
