Feature request: download mutations of variants by API #410

Please forgive me for my ignorance if this is already implemented - Is there a method to download the mutations of variants through the API? I noticed 2 days ago the download button on lineage reports was removed in commit 68c53d9166d514892e8760633b71e149dc46a8bf, and I am just wonder if there is another way for me to fetch the data so I can do some simple analyses?

P.S. I have to say I thoroughly enjoy the site and I greatly appreciate the effort to put together all these info in an accessible format. Thank you!

I actually used your web page (e. g., https://outbreak.info/compare-lineages?pango=AV.1&pango=B.1.1.318&pango=B.1.427&pango=B.1.429&pango=B.1.525&pango=B.1.526&pango=B.1.617.1&pango=B.1.617.3&pango=C.36.3&pango=C.37&pango=P.2&pango=P.3&pango=AY.1&pango=AY.2&pango=B.1.1.7&pango=B.1.1.7%20%2B%20S%3AE484K&pango=B.1.351&pango=B.1.351.1&pango=B.1.351.2&pango=B.1.351.3&pango=B.1.617.2&pango=P.1&pango=P.1.1&pango=P.1.2&pango=B.1.258&gene=S&gene=ORF1a&gene=ORF1b&gene=ORF3a&gene=E&gene=M&gene=ORF6&gene=ORF7a&gene=ORF7b&gene=ORF8&gene=N&gene=ORF10&threshold=50) to download mutation frequencies in different variants. However, now the download data option is missing on the web page. I tried it in different browsers / OS. Could you please return the download option or provide API to download such data?

Being able to download the lineage mutation frequencies was really helpful for me too. @flaneuse is it possible to get this added back?

flaneuse commented 2 years ago

@tyhho @kolarmi @Ellmen sorry, we forgot to respond. We are working with GISAID on an API to allow access to the underlying data. We'll keep you posted.

Alright, thanks!

@flaneuse That is wonderful news! Thank you very much!
