We are currently going to use the domain assignments for vocabularies supported by OHDSI. But for vocabularies not supported by OHDSI (i.e. JMDC procedure codes, OSCER drug names, etc), we need to assign a domain.
The current procedure is to assign codes by the entire vocabulary. If we need to assign codes by code (instead of vocabulary), we need to reassess our procedure at that point.
Assigning domains will do the following:
determine what color the operator and stream will be in the JAM
to help with backwards compatibility with OMOP v4 and v5.
