Contao 5.3? Twig? Consent-Mode? Google Ads? #200

Help! What about Contao 5.2?

Contao 5.2.x is EoL and not supported anymore (https://contao.org/de/release-plan), please upgrade to Contao 5.3. It's impossible to make Version 2.0 work with Contao 5.2.

What about Twig Support?

Twig-Support is fully integrated into Version 2.0, we need your feedback for that.

Consent-Mode is now mandatory!

Only for Google Ad campaigns and only for remarketing and targeting. It's mandatory for gaining even more information.

My Consent-Mode is not working?

Make sure to set up a Tag within https://googletagmanager.com/ and test it in DebugView: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7201382?hl=en#zippy=%2Cgoogle-tag-manager

The Ads on my page are not shown anymore

If you are publishing Ads on your page, you have to use a Google-certified CMP since January 2024: https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/13554116?hl=en

Something is wrong with Google Ads

Please ask your SEO Agency if they can provide proper technical details on the correct implementation on Google Ads as we've been following the implementation based on Google's documentation. Feel free to provide a Pull request or commission us after having all the details.

Regarding Google Consent Mode: Maybe i'm understanding things wrong, but for a single tag like Google Analytics, multiple Consent Mode Items are necessary (in the case of GA, it's ad_storage, ad_personalization, ad_user_data, analytics_storage), but following the GDPR, in the cookie bar frontend, the user should be able to (de)select tags individually (fine-grained control).

So how would I configure the cookie bar? If i would add all Consent Mode Items into one category, the user could not deselect Google Analytics as a whole.

Thanks a lot in advance!

The "Google Consent Mode" cookie types are the only types that can be created multiple times. This allows you to separate the individual tags in the cookie bar.

You can always configure your own options within the GTM settings and the additional configuration

Are something that should be asked in https://github.com/oveleon/contao-cookiebar/discussions or can be found answered already in the contao community forums.
